About Us

We're Glad You Found Us!

Whether you have connected with a church before or it's your very first time, we're honored and excited that you decided to check out Three Oaks! Our hope is that you would feel welcome and experience the love of God when you visit us!

Our Story

Our roots reach back to 1933 when a group of ladies wanted a house of worship. With nothing available, a tobacco barn became the meeting place. Since those early years, the church has gone through many changes but the roots of our faith remain unchanged.  In 1940 the first building was built by Rev. H.C. Meek. Then in the early 1970's, a larger building was built. By 1977 Pastor Paul & Abbie Baggett became the pastors and saw amazing growth and unique opportunities to reach out around the world. By 2003 Pastors Clay & Tawana Baggett had come alongside Pastor Paul & Abbie to lead into a new season as God began to increase the vision of the house. It was time to move to a larger property and we purchased a multiplex theater in Rivergate and transformed it into a new worship center.  The next chapter begins in 2014 when God began to guide the leadership to increase that vision once again. We located the growth sector in our region and began praying for direction and opportunity. In 2015 we felt the Lord say it was time and we sold our properties and purchased land in our area's projected growth sector and became a, temporarily, mobile church while we designed the next campus home. Today, the growing new campus at 502 Douglas Bend Road in Gallatin is a story of God's faithfulness. You'll find that the design of the campus speaks to a visual connection of the importance of our spiritual roots and growth. The vision of a small group of ladies in a rural area called Dog-patch shows the power of being faithful to a dream.

What We Believe

The sole basis for our beliefs is the Bible, which is uniquely God-inspired, without error, and the final authority on all matters on which it speaks. As the Bible teaches, there is one God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - each possessing all the attributes of deity.

God created humans to have fellowship with Him, but they defied God by sinfully going their own way. As a result, we need God’s saving grace to end our alienation from Him. Salvation comes only through God’s grace - not human effort - and must be received personally by repentance and faith.

Jesus Christ, the second Person of the Trinity, lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on the cross as our substitute. This accomplished salvation for all who receive grace by trusting in Him alone. He rose from the dead and is the only mediator between God and us. He baptizes believers in the Holy Spirit. He will return to earth to consummate history.

The Holy Spirit draws people to Christ and indwells the believer to live an overcoming and victorious Christian life. We believe in and depend on the power of the Holy Spirit to meet our need, in every arena of life. We believe in the present-day gifts of the Holy Spirit that empower Christians to live the life God intends for them.

The Bible says in Revelation 19:16 that Jesus is “King of kings and Lord of lords.” We believe that wholehearted submission to His will is the starting point of the Christian faith and the foundation of all spiritual growth.

God has called every believer in Matthew 28:19-20 to make disciples. Hence, one of our primary focuses at Three Oaks Church is to help people build their lives, both spiritually and relationally.

The Bible makes it clear that God builds through family, both natural and spiritual. God has called all believers to be a part of a healthy spiritual family.

The Bible says in 2 Timothy 2:2 that we are to teach and train others who will, in turn, train others. God has given each and every believer gifts and talents and calls us to impart to others.

John 3:16 clearly tells us that God loves people sacrificially. God's heart is to reach those who don't know Him. We are passionate about doing the same.

Matthew 9:36 shows that Jesus saw people and was moved with compassion for them, and we want to have that same compassion and love for others. We seek to extend the grace and mercy of God to those both near and far.

What To Expect

We'll start out the service with worship! We believe we can experience God’s presence through music, so we set aside time in each service to do just that. Don’t be afraid to sing along and participate as our worship leaders guide us in some modern and classic songs of praise!

We'll then cover some family business. There's a lot happening around Three Oaks! We'll take a few minutes during service to let you in on some upcoming events, take up an offering as an opportunity to practice generosity and to advance the local and global missions that we fund, and to collect Connect Cards - a simple tool for us to get to know you and find out how we can pray with you.

We'll hear a teaching from the Bible. Pastor Clay (or one of our other pastors) will share a practical teaching with you to encourage you in your journey of faith. If you're a note-taker, feel free to bring a journal and pen - or use your iPhone like many of us do! If you miss a week, feel free to catch up online where all of the sermons are archived, or you can watch our services live on the website or our app!

We'll provide for you the next step. Everyone is in a different place in their walk with God. The next step for you might be to receive prayer from our Prayer Team after service ends, come back next week, join a small group, or even sign up for Accelerate and become a member of our church! Whatever your next step might be, we're excited to help you get there!
